Coventry Bears have announced the signing of outside-back Errol Carter for the 2018 campaign.

Carter, who can play wing, centre or full-back, made two appearances for Gloucestershire All Golds last season and five at West Wales Raiders.

He’s also previously played for Oxford in League 1.

And Bears coach Tom Tsang is delighted to offer him a deal after a trial period with the club.

He said: “Errol has been training with us for a few weeks now, he is a winger or full-back and came highly recommended to us.

“He is a student at Gloucestershire University and has a handful of appearances for the All Golds and West Wales where he went on loan.

“He has trained with us with a good attitude and has shown up well in practices in comparison to our existing squad members. He will really push hard for a spot in the starting 17 come the start of the season.”

And Carter is looking forward to getting started.

He said: “I’m excited to have signed for the Bears, I’ve been training with them these last few weeks and it’s clear they’re a very close nit group.

“The players and staff have been great, I feel settled and I’m looking forward to this new challenge.

“I will be looking to show consistent performances and claiming the starting shirt.”
