Cougars ease to Grand Final victory

Jason Demetriou led from the front this afternoon as Keighley defeated Workington 32-12 to earn themselves a place in the Co-operative Championship this season.

The Cougars dominated proceedings in the first half and raced to a 22-0 lead by the half time interval thanks to tries from Danny Lawton, James Feather, Brendan Rawlins and Ollie Pursglove.

The lead proved to be too much for Workington, and despite tries in the second half from Scott Kaighan and Neil Frazer, it wasn’t enough defeat the Yorkshire outfit, who added two further tries in the second half through Jake Normington.

Keighley will now take their place in the Co-operative Championship next season along with automatically promoted Swinton Lions.
