Corey Thompson joins Widnes

Widnes have confirmed that they have signed full-back Corey Thompson on a two-year deal from the start of the 2016 season.

The 25-year-old has played for Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL since 2013.

“It’s a fantastic signing,” said Widnes coach Denis Betts.

“It’s a great coup for us. He’s experienced, he’s played in Grand Finals, He’s a proven try scorer.

“He’s got some utility value as well. He’s played on the wing for the last couple of years at the Canterbury Bulldogs, but he can also play in the halves and play at full-back.”
