Corey Norman will play on in 2023 after joining French Elite 1 side Lezignan for the 2022/23 season and will link up with James Maloney at the club.

France international Jason Baitieri will also be a part of the team next season.

Norman, 31, made 11 appearances in his debut year in Super League with Toulouse, having made the mid-season switch. He originally announced his retirement from the sport in 2021, only to return to the field with the French outfit.

He will now continue to play on next season in the French Elite 1 competition, signing a deal with Lezignan from November.

Corey Norman to link up with Maloney

Lezignan will have two former State of Origin half-backs next season as Norman looks set to link up with 36-year-old Maloney.

Maloney, a former Blues and Kangaroos playmaker, made more than 300 appearances across his career in the NRL and Super League. He won two NRL Premierships with Sydney Roosters in 2013 and Cronulla Sharks in 2016.

The half-back originally made the switch to the part-time competition at the end of the 2021 Super League campaign. He joined from Catalans, featuring in the Grand Final that season.

Norman made one appearance for Queensland in 2019, having also featured for the Prime Minister’s XIII. He made more than 150 appearances in the NRL across stints with Brisbane, Parramatta and St George Illawarra Dragons.
