Colbon out for Broncos

London Broncos will be without winger Liam Colbon for Sunday’s trip to Warrington with a groin injury.

The Broncos were encouraging in a 34-24 defeat at the hands of St Helens last week, and welcome Matt Cook and David Howell in to the squad after they missed out through injury and suspension respectively.

They are still without injured pair Dan Sarginson and Karl Temata, but coach Rob Powell is still encouraged.

He said: “Given the relatively positive individual performances last week against St Helens we are in a position where we’ve picked a similar squad for the game up at Warrington.”

It will be the first game at the new look Halliwell Jones Stadium, which has undergone development work over the close season, with two corners being filled in to increase capacity.

Head Coach Tony Smith said: “Both the opposition in the Broncos and the stadium we have here at Warrington are certainly different this season; one in terms of personnel, the other in terms of cosmetics.

“It’s going to make for a great fixture in the fact that we have a bit of an unknown quantity in terms of who we’re playing but also in terms of stadium atmosphere as I think we all know what to expect; it is going to go up a level or two which we are really excited about.”

Warrington 19-man squad: Atkins, Blythe, Bridge, Briers, Carvell, Cooper, Evans, Grix, Harrison, Hill, J Monaghan, M Monaghan, Morley, Myler, Ratchford, Riley, Waterhouse, Westwood, Wood.

London 19-man squad: Bailey, Bryant, Caro, Clubb, Cook, Dixon, Dorn, Golden, Gower, Howell, Kaufusi, Krasniqi, Melling, O’Callaghan, Randall, Rinaldi, Robertson, Rodney, Witt.
