Hunslet assistant coaches Gary Lord and Mark Cass have both agreed to stay on at the club for a further 12 months, working alongside new head coach Barry Eaton.

Lord will continue in his role as first team assistant coach and Cass will take on a conditioning role combined with duties on match days.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said: “It was the clubs intention to keep these 2 popular members of the coaching team and after discussion with Barry Eaton is was obvious all parties were happy to work together, were thrilled both Gary and Mark will continue the excellent working relationship they have formed and I look forward to working with them in the future.”

Former Keighley boss Eaton has recently succeeded Paul March in the Hunslet hot seat, following a year as assistant at Crusaders.

Meanwhile, Hunslet have announced that Tommy Haughey will leave the club after rejecting terms for 2012.

Williams added: “Tommy has decided that he wants to look for a better deal than the club can currently offer so regrettably we have to respect his decision although it’s been a pleasure to work with him over the previous 2 years its been a tough decision for both parties concerned.”
