Two community clubs will win a “Fix Up Your Club” prize from RFL partners Ronseal.

“Fix Up Your Club” will support two clubs with a day each of DIY provided by volunteers from the Ronseal team. In addition, two England international players will visit each club for a meet & greet with members from the club and its community.

The RFL will now commence with the first stage of the process by reaching out to local clubs interested in applying for the scheme.

The first fixing up day will take place at the end of February 2020, while the second will occur in mid-March 2020.

Bobby Bahadori, RFL Head of Partnerships, said: “Ronseal is a well-known and trusted brand which, like Rugby League, has always remained true to its grassroots, so we are delighted that the company is demonstrating its commitment to Rugby League – and in particular the community game.

“The Ronseal team will come down to your club to give it the DIY job it deserves. Plus, they will bring with them two international England Rugby League stars to lend a hand. ‘Fix up your club’ day will be a fun day for all the family, so get your applications in now!”

The Rugby Football League announced a four-year deal with Ronseal in July 2018, the woodcare brand’s first foray into sports sponsorship.

The deal sees the brand feature on the playing shirts of the England Men’s, Women’s, Knights, Wheelchair, Academy and Youth squads until the end of 2021, which includes the next Rugby League World Cup.

Kristie Blackford-Mills, Brand Manager at Ronseal UK, said: “We are delighted to launch Fix Up Your Club, our first major initiative with the RFL.

“We set ourselves the goal of finding a partner aligned with our core values of performance, durability and integrity, and we believe this activation perfectly brings together those values that we share with the RFL by allowing us to give back to our core fans.

“It is very exciting to now begin the process of sounding out those two clubs.”

Any community club in England in need of a makeover can apply by downloading a form from https://www.rugby-league.com/fixupyourclub. Competition closes on 19 January 2020.
