Chris Hill set to benefit from Championship experience

Warrington coach Tony Smith believes Chris Hill’s experience in the Championship will benefit the 23-year old.

Hill joined Warrington from Leigh mid season training with the Wolves full time, but was loaned back to the Centurions for the remainder of the 2011 season.

Smith insists his time at Leigh has helped him develop into the mature player he is when he joined with the Wolves.

Smith said: “He hasn’t been rushed in as a player to young who wasn’t quite capable yet. I think that’ll work for him in the long run, and the fact he has done an apprenticeship playing against men will be a good platform for Super League.

“I think he’s learnt a lot in the last few years playing in the Championship, playing against other hard heads and being thrown into that type of league. For him to be playing in the leagues he’s played in has done him a world of good, as we have found out with some of our duel registration players its been great for them as well.

“I think he is a very talented rugby league player. He is a really great find, he’s got a great build and he works hard. He asks plenty of questions and he’s willing to learn.”
