Young Hull forward Chris Green has signed a new three-year contract at the KC Stadium.

Green, 21, scored the controversial game-winning try against derby rivals Hull KR at the Magic Weekend last Saturday, and has been rewarded for his fine form in 2013.

He said: “I am really pleased to have been offered a new contract and it makes all the hard work worthwhile.

“I still know I have a number of areas that I need to work on to really lift my game, but I know I’m improving all the time and really benefitting from my time in the first team.”

Green, who has made 23 appearances for the Airlie Birds, had 12 months left to run on his previous deal, but is now committed until the end of 2016.

Head Coach Peter Gentle added: “Chris has all the attributes to really grow into a strong forward in this competition and make a significant impact.

“He is a big thing, but at the same time he is quick and mobile, which really lends itself to the way we want to play.”
