Chris Chester: Individuals let us down

Wakefield coach Chris Chester says he will drop some individuals from first-team duties to play in the reserves next week.

Trinity went from being 15-14 up against rivals Castleford at half-time to losing 32-15 at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Friday night.

Chester said: “We’ve gone from producing a really disciplined performance last week to being the worst disciplined team in the competition.

“I’m disappointed with some individuals. We sent out a message last week about rewarding players but there will be some guys dropping down this week. Some individuals really let this team down.

“It was probably the best opportunity we’ve had for a long time to beat Cas.

“I thought we were the best side in the first half but in the second half we were defensively soft and our discipline was very poor.

“We were too nice in the ruck, we probably need to learn how to cheat a little bit. We were behind the referee all the time and up off the floor very quick.”
