Chester wary of expansive Eagles

Hull KR coach Chris Chester has warned that his team need to be aware of the potent attacking threat that Sheffield Eagles carry.

The two teams meet in the Qualifers at Bramall Lane on Friday evening, and Chester is not taking the Championship outfit lightly.

“I watched their game closely last week and they like to chance their arm,” Chester told his club’s official website.

“They’re not afraid of little chip kicks or throwing the ball out the back and they’re a good footballing side.

“They’ve got a lot of threat in their outside backs, their kicking game is a big threat and they’re quite physical in the middle of the park as well.

“They’ve got nothing to lose and there’s no pressure on them. Watching the game against Salford last week, they were very good with ball in hand so defensively we need to be at our best.

“I like their full back, I like Menzie Yere in the centre and I like both their half backs. They’ve obviously got Keal Carlile as well at hooker and he looks like he’s running the ball a lot more now. He looks full of confidence and I’m pleased for Keal.

“It’s good to see him doing really well for Sheffield, but we know it’s going to be a tough game. They took Salford right down to the wire and it will be a good contest. It’s a big challenge and we’re looking forward to it.”
