Chester keen to keep Kelly long-term at Hull KR

Hull KR coach Chris Chester wants to make sure that the spine of his team stays together for many seasons to come.

While Shaun Lunt and Terry Campese have recently signed long-term deals at the club, Chester wants half-back Albert Kelly to remain at the club as long as he is.

“I want Albey here as long as I’m here,” Chester told the Hull Daily Mail.

“That goes for Bobby [Maurice Blair], too. I want to keep all of my best players here.

“They are two great kids, great players and they make a big difference to our team. But, there’s no real rush with tying them down.

“It’s important that we keep our stability here with Bobby and Albey and Campo [Campese].

“It’s also important to keep people like Mitch Allgood, Adam Walker and Shaun Lunt, the core of the team together, and it’s my job to do so.”

Walker and Allgood, whose deals are set to expire at the end of the 2017 season, could also soon be offered new deals.
