Chase focused on Widnes

Widnes stand-off Rangi Chase says they must focus on themselves ahead of the start of The Qualifiers this Friday.

The Vikings, who finished bottom of the Super League table, start the end of season run-in with a home game against local rivals Warrington.

They lost to the Wolves in the final game of the regular season, albeit without Chase who has sat out the last two matches through suspension.

The former Castleford, Salford and Leigh half is yet to taste defeat at the Halton Stadium in Vikings colours.

He told the club’s official website: “Warrington have a strong back three, with their wingers and full backs. I don’t worry about them though, to be honest.

“We need to focus on ourselves, tidy our game up a bit and we’ll be fine.”

Widnes are likely to make several changes from the game a fortnight ago at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, when they went down 22-6.

They are favourites to make an appearance in the Million Pound Game having won just five games all season.

Elsewhere in The Qualifiers this weekend, Featherstone host Leigh, London travel to Catalans and an all Championship clash sees Hull KR host Halifax, who secured their place in the top four with a win over the same opponent last week.
