The six Huddersfield players arrested and bailed earlier this year have had formal confirmation that no further action is to be taken.

The Giants started the season under a cloud of rape allegations following a pre-season training camp in Newcastle, but the club as now confirmed they have received notification that all potential charges have been dismissed.

Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis said: “This was the outcome that our own investigation indicated would be the case and whilst there was degree of frustration on our part as to the time taken to get to this position we, and our players, recognise that the authorities have to follow process (which we complied with every step of the way) and that these matters take time to conclude.

“Everyone at the club can now look forward to the focusing on the remainder of the season and to achieving success in the Engage Super League.”

The six unnamed players had been bailed to appear on June 11th pending further investigation.
