Channing hoping for permanent Cas stay

On-loan centre Michael Channing is hoping his form will earn him a permanent deal at Castleford.

Channing, 21, joined the Tigers on loan from London Broncos in July, and has scored three tries in as many matches.

Head Coach Daryl Powell has hinted that he may be looking to extend the stay of the Wales international.

Channing said: “It’s nice to hear that, especially when the main thing that you want is a contract.

“When your Head Coach is telling you that he wants to sign you then it gives you confidence. You’ve got to be confident in this sport, otherwise you’re going to get lost.

“I’m training hard and my main goal is to earn a permanent contract with the Club.

“I’m going to do all that I can in the last game against Wakefield at the weekend and do as much as I can in the last few sessions to try and impress Daryl.”
