Thursday’s live televised fixture pitted Sheffield against Gateshead. The Eagles got back to winning ways with a 46-30 win as Damien Gibson scored a hat-trick.  Nick Youngquest also scored three in vain for the Thunder who remain in the bottom two.

Featherstone’s hope of a top two finish may not have died just yet as they came from 18-0 down to win 22-20 at Halifax.  A late Jack Lee try and Stuart Dickens conversion sealed the win for Rovers.

Barrow trounced Leigh 74-6 on Saturday.  Four tries on debut for James Coyle were the highlight, while form centre James Nixon crossed for three.

Toulouse were the subject of a comeback victory from Widnes Vikings in the south of France. Two tries came from Kevin Penny as the Vikings won 32-24, though three tries came in the last 10 minutes from Paul Cullen’s men.

Lowly Doncaster lost 19-10 at home to Whitehaven. Early tries from Kyle Amor and Craig Calvert were decisive as the visitors had a stranglehold on the game throughout.

Blackpool beat London Skolars 46-22 on Saturday to kick off the weekend’s Championship One action.  Young full-back Jonny Leather scored twice.

Dewsbury defeated depleted Oldham 38-8 as they near promotion. Andrew Bostock scored twice.

A late penalty from Liam McGovern separated the sides at Spotland, Rochdale defeating Swinton 24-22.

Paul March came back to haunt York with a try in Hunslet’s 20-8 win at Huntington Stadium.
