Championship semi-finals confirmed

The Championship semi-finals have been confirmed following victories for both Batley Bulldogs and York City Knights in the elimination play-offs. 

Leigh Centurions will host York following their impressive victory over Halifax on Sunday evening. It means Batley will travel to Featherstone Rovers.

The Bulldogs defeated Barrow 18-8 at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Jonny Campbell a try-scorer on the day alongside Alistair Leak, who crossed for a brace.

York, who remain the lowest ranked team left in the play-offs, picked up a somewhat surprise 26-24 win over Halifax Panthers at The Shay live on Premier Sports, having found themselves 22-12 down at half-time. Joe Brown, Will Jubb, Liam Harris and Levi Edwards all scoring, while James Glover kicked three goals.

Both semi-finals will be covered by Premier Sports on Sunday, September 25, with Leigh Centurions and Featherstone Rovers both playing at home.

Championship Semi Finals – Sunday September 25

  • Leigh Centurions v York City Knights (2pm)
  • Featherstone Rovers v Batley Bulldogs (4pm)

Final – Sunday October 2, 6pm
