Championship round-up: Toronto remain top, Leigh edge Sheffield, York made to work

There were a couple of close encounters in round 13 of the Championship.

Leigh Centurions performed a late comeback to snatch a 42-38 win against Sheffield Eagles at the Leigh Sports Village.

Andy Thornley, Gregg McNally, Ryan Brierley, Iain Thornley, James Laithwaite, Josh Eaves and Liam Hood scored for the Centurions.

Halifax eased past Barrow Raiders 46-10 at The Shay under the leadership of Simon Grix.

Chester Butler, Kevin Larroyer (2), Ed Barber, Brandon Moore, Connor Davies, Ben Kavanagh and James Woodburn-Hall all crossed the whitewash for Fax.

Matt Calland lost his first game in charge of Rochdale Hornets as they went down to a 56-10 defeat to Featherstone Rovers at the Crown Oil Arena.

Cameron King, James Harrison, Dane Chisholm, Conor Carey (2), Josh Hardcastle, Luke Cooper (2), Josh Walters and Ashton Golding scored for the Rovers.

Toronto Wolfpack continued their promotion push with a 36-16 win over Bradford Bulls at Lamport Stadium.

Nick Rawsthorne (2), Adam Sidlow, Ricky Leutele, Chase Stanley, Gareth O’Brien and Liam Kay went over for the Wolfpack.

France international Anthony Marion racked up a tally of 14 points to inspire Toulouse Olympique to a 38-0 win over Dewsbury Rams at the Tetley’s Stadium.

Marion, Constantine Mika, Joe Bretherton, Clement Boyer, Jonathon Ford, Mark Kheirallah and James Bell went over for Toulouse.

York City Knights were made to work for the two points as they edged past Batley Bulldogs 28-24 at Bootham Crescent.

Matty Marsh, Connor Robinson, Marcus Stock, Ronan Dixon and Will Jubb crossed for the Knights.

Widnes Vikings returned to winning ways with a 32-10 victory over Swinton Lions at Heywood Road.

Ted Chapelhow (2), Joe Lyons, Sam Wilde and Danny Craven got on the scoresheet for the Vikings.

Toronto are top of the Championship table, with Toulouse, Sheffield, Leigh and York currently occupying the top five.
