On Saturday, Gateshead boosted their Championship survival hopes with a stunning 48-20 victory away to Toulouse.

James Cording, Ben McAlpine and Russ Aitken all scored doubles for Thunder, who draw to within one point of safety behind Leigh.

Batley lost at home to Sheffield on Sunday. Brendon Lindsay and Danny Mills both scored twice in a 34-22.

Lowly Doncaster were destroyed by Barrow, who will be confident of a first place finish now. The Raiders won 64-0, as Lucky Luisi, Ned Catic and James Coyle all bagged braces.

Featherstone snatched a last gasp victory at home to Widnes. A 78th minute try from Tom Saxton, his second of the day, secured a 34-29 win, as the Vikings continued to struggle away from home.

In a remarkable match at the Shay, Halifax were subjected to a third straight defeat.  Whitehaven survived a late onslaught to win 50-42, with defence being discarded for try-scoring. Craig Calvert scored four.

In the Championship One, rock bottom London Skolars marked their television debut with a terrific performance away to Oldham.

But the home side prevailed 28-22, with late tries from Thomas Coyle and Lee Greenwood snatching a win.

Rochdale lost at home to Blackpool on Sunday. Paul Fairhurst scored twice for the Panthers.

In just the third and final game of the weekend in Championship One saw Workington lose at home to Keighley. The Cougars came away from Derwent Park with a 22-16 win.
