Championship Preview: Halifax v Dewsbury

Halifax coach Karl Harrison is bracing his troops for a demanding 10 days as the Easter schedule approaches.

Halifax, who are currently four points clear at the top of the Kingstone Press Championship, could further stretch their lead with a win over Dewsbury Rams.

Harrison’s squad then face matches against Doncaster and Oxford in the following week.

Harrison said: “It’s a real tough period. Four games in 14 days is tough for anybody.”

However, Harrison is buoyed by his side’s performance in their 22-12 win at Whitehaven last week.

He said: “We were concerned at half time about giving Whitehaven a bit of energy, but we showed great character to come back when we went behind.

“It was one of the toughest matches I’ve seen this season. Both teams gave it to each other, but we slightly edged it.

“We’ve always been really good offensively. This year we’ve struggled a bit with ball in hand, but we’ve been really strong defensively.”

Harrison reported no new injury concerns, while Dewsbury, who are still without Austin Buchanan, will assess James Craven and Ryan Wright before coach Glenn Morrison finalises his team.
