Championship Preview: Featherstone v Keighley

Jack Bussey will definitely feature for Featherstone Rovers, coach Daryl Powell has confirmed.

But Michael Haley is still two weeks away from a return to first team action, while Sam Smeaton is hoping to make his comeback in April.

Rovers maintained their 100 per cent record with a 45-18 win at Whitehaven last week, but Powell believes there is plenty more to come from his squad, who are listed as favourites on the rugby betting sites.

Powell said: “We’re winning games, but at the moment we’re not playing as well as we can.

“There is some work to be done, but you’d expect that when we’re only five games into the season. We’re looking forward to improving.”

Keighley Cougars coach Paul March is boosted by the news that Richard Owen, Johnny Walker and Charlie Martin are all available on dual registration deals from Castleford Tigers.

Cougars have also signed Elliott Cosgrove on a four week loan deal from Dewsbury Rams in an effort to cover Daley Williams’ absence.

March said: “We’re going to go to Featherstone as massive underdogs, but it’s the first time people will see us on Premier Sports this year and we want to put in a good account of ourselves.”
