Championship leaders Featherstone have re-signed utility back Tom Saxton on a two-year deal.

The former Castleford player, 26, has been one of the stand out performers this season, helping Daryl Powell’s side to the top of the table.

Powell said: “Tommy has been a massive part of the positives this year and to have him signed up for another two seasons is great for us, his versatility gives us options and he has an edge to his game that makes him difficult to defend against.”

Saxton will remain at Bigfellas Stadium for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. He has also previously played for Hull, Wakefield and Salford.
