Hull KR stayed five points clear of London Broncos at the top of the Championship with a 40-18 win at Sheffield.

Justin Carney weighed in with a pair of tries on his debut to put Rovers one victory away from claiming the League Leaders Shield.

London won 36-30 at home to Featherstone – tries by Alex Walker (2), Matt Gee, William Barthau, Kieran Dixon and Elliot Kear secured the points for the Broncos.

Dewsbury recorded a shock 34-22 victory over Toulouse as the French side failed to capitalise on Featherstone’s defeat.

Lucas Walshaw (2), Macauley Hallett, Alex Brown and Jode Sheriffe were on the scoresheet for the Rams.

Halifax’s top four hopes were hit as Chris Atkin’s drop-goal earned Swinton a late 13-12 victory at Heywood Road.
