After coming up just short yet again, the Oldham supporters must be wondering just what there side has to do to win promotion from Championship 1.
A less than ideal second-half of 2009, combined with a tumultuous close season has seen a number of Oldham’s star names depart for pastures new.
However, with a new season comes another chance to prove that rugby league in Oldham is alive and well. In Matty Ashe and Neil Roden, the Roughyeds have a mixture of youth and experience that has the ability to unlock any defence in the division.
Joe Chandler‘s arrival from Leeds will excite the Oldham faithful and big things are expected of young Saqib Murtza, who has endured a difficult time with injuries recently. The Roughyeds will surprise a few in 2010, but may have to wait another season at least for promotion.
