Challenge Cup third round results and round-up

There were some big scorelines in the Challenge Cup this weekend as the League One sides joined the action.

Bradford and Doncaster both won by 82-6, against West Wales Raiders and Myron Warriors respectively, while Hunslet thrashed Oulton Raiders 72-16.

Newcastle recorded the biggest win in the club’s history, beating Hemel 74-0 in an all League One clash.

Two of the four all League One clashes were much tighter, with Whitehaven edging past London Skolars 16-14 and North Wales Crusaders going one better than last week, as they beat Keighley 28-24.

Workington made hard work of a 24-16 win at Hunslet Parkside and York battered Askam 60-6.

In the live BBC Sport game, Coventry saw off Distinction 42-12 and elsewhere Oldham beat Featherstone Lions 42-0.

There will at least be some community game representation in the fourth round draw though.

Normanton Knights beat Batley Boys 18-0 to secure their place, Kells beat the British Army 30-4 and Pilkington Recs beat Millom 32-16.

With the exception of Toulouse, who have opted not to enter the competition this year, the Championship teams join in at the fourth round stage to join the 13 winners from the weekend.

The 12 winners of the round four games will then be joined by Super League sides Catalans, Hull KR, Warrington and Widnes due to their league position last year.

The remaining Super League sides then enter at the fifth round stage.
