Challenge Cup third round draw tonight

The draw for the third round of the Challenge Cup will take place at Featherstone Rovers on Monday, February 27, from 6pm.

Taking place at Featherstone’s Millennium Stadium, the draw will also be streamed live on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport Online. 

Rovers are one of 13 Championship clubs entering the competition at this stage. They will join the 19 sides who were victorious in the second round over the weekend.

Seven League 1 clubs made it through, while Cornwall’s historic first-ever match in the competition fell to a 20-14 home defeat to Rochdale Mayfield.

The National Conference League side are one of 12 community clubs in the hat for the third round – Rochdale Mayfield, Wath Brow Hornets, Stanningley, West Bowling, Thatto Heath Crusaders, Leigh Miners Rangers, York Acorn, Wests Warriors, Hunslet ARLFC, Siddal, Orrell St James and Westgate Common.

League 1’s Rochdale Hornets defeated London Skolars 42-4 at the Crown Oil Arena. There was also an all-League 1 affair in Doncaster, with the hosts just edging past Oldham 28-26 to reach the third round.

Having defeated the Royal Navy 70-0, North Wales Crusaders are another League 1 club who secured their spot for the third round of the prestigious Challenge Cup competition. The other League 1 outfits are Workington Town, Midlands Hurricanes, Doncaster and Hunslet.

Round three ties will take place over the weekend of March 11 and 12.
