The draw for the second round of the Challenge Cup was completed on Monday evening, with Super League stars Ryan Hall and Oliver Holmes making the draw.

Leeds Rhinos winger Hall drew the home teams, while Castleford Tigers second row Holmes drew the away teams.

The draw took place at the club house of amateur side Oulton Raiders, where Hall played his early rugby.

“It was an honour to be part of this tonight. It’s good that the Oulton club remember me and invite me down on their behalf,” said the Rhinos star.

“I started my Challenge Cup career at Oulton away against Leigh Miners back in 2006. To start at that point and go on to taste success with Leeds is such an amazing feeling.”

Holmes, a former Normanton Knights player, was delighted to have been part of the event.

“It was a great experience to be at Oulton tonight having never seen a cup draw live before. All the fans were so passionate,” he said.

“I was praying for Ryan to pull the Normanton home ball out and he did. I remember them playing Shaw Cross a few years ago as the Knights battled for promotion so it’ll be good to see them play again.”
