Challenge Cup Final has nationwide appeal

Massive demand from every corner of the UK for tickets for the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final is set to produce a record crowd at Wembley on Saturday August 28.

With fewer than 5,000 tickets still unsold, supporters are being urged to move quickly to secure their seat for the match between current Carnegie Challenge Cup holders Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos, the reigning Super League champions.

Fans of both clubs will be joined at Wembley by coachloads of supporters from as far afield as Somerset, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Kent, Hertfordshire and Scotland, with a large number of clubs from the rapidly growing summer Co-operative Conferences driving the upsurge in interest in Rugby League’s showpiece occasion.

RFL Customer Services  Manager Kevan Williams is delighted with the progress made in new areas: “The Rugby League family is increasing in size with every passing year and the heritage and excitement of the Challenge Cup Final is playing a big part in that.

“There will be tens of thousands of partisan and loyal supporters cheering on Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves but there will also be thousands of people at Wembley representing new clubs from areas of the UK where Rugby League is fast developing a presence.

“Many of these clubs have benefited significantly from the RFL’s Cashback initiative which rewards clubs for every ticket sold for the major events in our calendar.

“It will be their opportunity to witness first hand one of the nation’s prized sporting occasions and this can only be good news for the game.”

Supporters can still buy tickets by contacting the RFL Ticket Office on 0844 8561113 or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk. Tickets are also available from the Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office on 0871 4231315 and the Warrington Wolves Ticket Office on 0871 6221879.
