Centurions release Worrincy

Four months after joining Leigh Centurions, second row Michael Worrincy has been released from his contract.

The 26 year old forward returned to play in this country at the end of last year after trying his luck at the NRL with Penrith Panthers and subsequently their feeder team Windsor Wolves.

Explaining the surprising news, Centurions Head Coach Paul Rowley said “”I have been in constant talks with Michael over the last few weeks. He has struggled to find work here in the north, and as such has found it difficult to settle – his family are still based down south.”

“Michael has really enjoyed his time here at Leigh, but due to his personal family circumstances both Michael and the club think it best for all concerned to go our separate ways. I’d like to thank Michael for his efforts, and wish him the best of luck for the future.”

During his short stint with the club Worrincy made seven appearances, including five starts and went over for three tries.
