Celtic boss would love to sign Henson

Celtic Crusaders coach John Dixon would love to lure Welsh Rugby Union idol Gavin Henson to Bridgend, but admits it’s unlikely.

Henson, 27, was born not far from Celtic’s Brewery Field ground, and has won the Grand Slam with Wales twice in the past four seasons.

Currently playing for Welsh franchise Ospreys, Henson has also represented the British Lions, and is a regular visit to Celtic’s home games.

He is under contract with Ospreys until the end of 2011, and although Dixon quashed any rumours about him switching codes, he admitted he wouldn’t mind making a move for the star.

He said: “I have not spoken to Gavin about it and no one has approached me.

“These rumours get credence by talking about it so I don’t want to make anything of it.

“However, I would love to have him here.”

Celtic have won just two games in their debut Super League campaign, and host Warrington at Brewery Field this Saturday.
