Super League ace Paul Aiton will feature at loose forward for PNG

Catalans Dragons won’t be signing another hooker to fill in for injured rake Paul Aiton.

Aiton is expected to be out for the next six weeks with a torn pectoral muscle. The PNG international picked up the injury in Friday’s loss to Wigan.

A Catalans spokesperson told Love Rugby League that the club has enough depth to cover the loss of Aiton.

“We have enough depth and quality in our squad and reserve team and academy,” the spokesperson said.

French international Eloi Pelissier is expected to start in the number 9 jersey against Hull FC on Saturday.

Forwards Gregory Mounis and Justin Horo, both back-rowers, have also filled in a hooker in the past.
