Catalans sign Pat Richards for 2016

Catalans Dragons have revealed that Pat Richards will be joining them for thee 2016 season, with the former Wigan star having signed a two-year deal.

The 33-year-old has enjoyed a highly successful career in the NRL and Super League.

While with Wigan he won two Challenge Cup finals and two Super League Grand Finals. He has also represented Ireland at international level.

 “I’m excited about coming back to the Super League and the new challenge of playing for the Catalans Dragons,” said Richards.

“My family and I are also excited about living in and being a part of the French culture.”

Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous is very pleased to have acquired a player with such a long and successful career behind him.

“I’m delighted with the signing of Pat Richards,” he said.

“We were looking for a player with a great experience, and, with more than 300 Super League and NRL appearances, he will help the team, especially the young players we have coming through like Fouad Yaha.

“His try ratio per game proves he is a prolific try scorer and his place kicking is second to none.”
