Catalans are monitoring the progress of New Zealand Warriors centre Anthony Gelling ahead of a potential return to Super League in 2019.

The 27-year-old left Wigan Warriors in the off-season to return back to his native New Zealand due to family reasons.

Gelling then signed a one-year deal with New Zealand Warriors and he has made five appearances in the NRL so far this season, scoring one try.

But a return to Super League could be on the cards for the Cook Islands international in 2019.

Dragons chief executive Christophe Jouffret admitted that the club are interested in Gelling.

He told Treize Mondial: “Yes, he is a player that we follow and with whom we discuss but it is not only him.

“We are in the period when the negotiations are growing and we still have 15 players at the end of their contract.”

The Dragons have won six of their last seven games in all competitions. They are tenth in the Super League table but are in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup.
