Catalans Dragons shut out Leeds Rhinos for the whole of the second half to secure their first win of the season in Perpignan.

Mick Potter's men found themselves 22-12 down at the interval, but scored 18 unanswered points after that to pick up a surprise victory.

Tries from Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Jamie Thackray, Scott Donald and Lee Smith had seen the visitors hold the advantage at half time, but Casey McGuire's early second half try triggered the fightback.

Vincent Duport followed that up with another four pointer, and the home side took the lead through Dimitri Pelo's try in the 75th minute.

And the points were secured when Aaron Gorrell slotted over a penalty late on, making it 30-22.

Dragons coach Potter was understandably delighted: "It was a well earned victory. We worked very well in the second half and I was very proud of the players but we've still got work to do."

Counterpart Tony Smith was quick to praise the home fans: ""The atmosphere was like a 14th man for the Catalans. We knew it would be tough and were forced into to many errors."
