Catalans Dragons 16-18 Wigan Warriors

The Wigan captain touched down two minutes from time to level the scores at 16-16, and Pat Richards’ conversion sailed home to ensure that the visitors returned to the UK with two points.

The Catalan side had taken the lead with a try from Alex Chan and three goals from Aaron Gorrell, before Trent Barrett combined with Gareth Hock to send Chris Ashton over the try line.

Both sides saw touch downs disallowed after the half-time interval, before Justin Murphy scored to put the Dragons into a 14-6 lead.

This could have been the final blow to Wigan’s chances, but Phil Bailey scored to put them in a position to get something out of the game, and O’Loughlin and Richards gladly did just that.
