Catalans Dragons have confirmed that back rower Elliott Whitehead has suffered no serious consequences as a result of the head clash in the game against Huddersfield on Saturday.

Whitehead was stretchered off after three minutes of the game, but the Dragons have released a statement confirming that a trip to hospital for tests showed nothing to be concerned about.

“News is reassuring concerning Elliott Whitehead who was forced off the field by a concussion after 3 minutes yesterday against the Huddersfield Giants,” the statement read.

“The Catalans back rower underwent scans [n Saturday] at the Perpignan Hospital and came out few hours later.”
