Catalans Dragons posted an impressive 38-6 victory over Salford City Reds in Perpignan thanks to doubles by Dimitri Pelo and Jean-Phillip Baile.

The win takes the Dragons into ninth place, albeit with tenth-placed Wigan Warriors to play Celtic Crusaders tomorrow afternoon.

Salford City Reds had won their previous three games in league and cup and will be disappointed to have been beaten so heavily.

The visitors opened the scoring through Stephen Ratchford, John Wilshere converting, but tries from Pelo (2) and Remi Casty along with a Thomas Bosc conversion gave the Dragons a 14-6 lead at the interval.

Baile kept the scoreboard ticking with two tries, Bosc adding a second goal to make the score 22-6 in the Catalans’ favour.

Three tries in the last ten minutes sealed the game for the home side, Jerome Guisset, Kane Bentley and Stephen Bell touching down, Bosc adding a third goal.
