Catalans 23-22 Huddersfield

A late comeback wasn't enough for Huddersfield as they fell to a sixth straight defeat against Catalans Dragons.

It was yet more heartbreak for Huddersfield, who have competed in every game they've played this season, but have nothing to show for it.

They lost by 4 points against Hull, Leeds and Bradford, and then by 7 at Hull KR, and 8 by St Helens.

This time it was a Stacey Jones drop goal on the stroke of half time that separated the two sides, and allowed the home team to stretch further away from the bottom.

Thomas Bosc and Lionel Teixido handed the Dragons a dream start, as they went 12-0 up early on.

Ryan Hudson and Chris Nero dragged Huddersfield back in to the game, before Jones struck a one pointer to make it 13-12 to Catalans at the break.

But at the start of the half, the visitors again lost concentration, and Australian imports Clint Greenshields and Adam Mogg put Catalans clear at 23-12.

Late tries from Stuart Jones and Stephen Wild set up an exciting finish, but it was yet again too little too late for Huddersfield, who must be wondering what they have to do to get any reward for their efforts.
