Leeds back-rower Alex Mellor has been given the all-clear following his injury against Catalans on Thursday night.

Mellor, 27, has been cleared of serious injury after pre-cautionary treatment at hospital. He was stretchered from the field early in the first half.

Wakefield winger Tom Lineham is set to face a couple of weeks on the sidelines after suffering an injury in their 20-4 defeat at champions St Helens.

The 29-year-old, who joined Trinity in the off-season from Warrington, left the action early in Friday night’s defeat at St Helens.

Wigan forward eyeing up return

Wigan forward Ethan Havard is expected to return to action later in March.

Head coach Matt Peet confirmed that the 21-year-old has returned to training. He is hoping to be back after the club’s 10-day trip to France as they face Toulouse and Catalans respectively.

He could make his return at home against Castleford.

Warrington provide update

Warrington are expected to have Ben Currie available again for their upcoming clash with Catalans. He missed their win over Toulouse on Saturday.

Gareth Widdop missed the trip due to illness but is expected to return. Mike Cooper injured his ribs during the club’s victory, while Stefan Ratchford also picked up a knock.

Warrington centre Connor Wrench will be out for up to five weeks with a stress fracture in the back.

Elsewhere

Carlos Tuimavave is yet to make his first appearance of the year due to a hamstring issue. He is also a doubt for their upcoming clash with Castleford.

Will Hopoate is set to return for St Helens for their trip to Hull KR on Friday.

Head coach Kristian Woolf said: “He hasn’t quite settled as much as we’d have liked. He’ll definitely be available next week I think.

“It’s just one of those injuries and with it being so early in the year if we push through him to get more damage to it, then it runs the risk for it being around for a good six or seven weeks.”
