Castleford’s plans for a new stadium are set to take another step forward on February 19.

This is the confirmed planning committee date for the Five Towns Park Development, which includes the Tigers’proposed new community stadium.

The meeting will take place at 11am in the Council Chamber, County Hall, Wakefield. It is open to the public.

In the meeting the £135m Five Towns Park outline application by Lateral Property Group will be discussed. The application includes a new 10,000 capacity seater stadium, a supermarket, petrol station, shops and a country park, on land just off the M62 at junction 32 at Glasshoughton.

“The new stadium is essential to the success of our club in the long term, I can’t stress enough just how much we need this,” said Tigers CEO Steve Gill.

“To have £135m worth of investment into the Five Towns area is just something we as an area cannot afford to turn down.”
