Castleford’s coaching staff commit to club

Castleford Tigers have confirmed that the club’s coaching staff will be place for the next three years at least.

Danny Orr, Ryan Sheridan and Ben Cooper have all signed new three-year contracts which should see them in place until the end of the 2017 season.

Orr is assistant to head coach Daryl Powell, and he and head of strength and conditioning Cooper were already at the club when Daryl Powell was apppointed as head coach in 2013.

Sheridan moved to Cas from neighbours Featherstone Rovers in 2014.

“I’m absolutely delighted that all of our coaching staff have agreed new deals that will see them stay at the club for the foreseeable future,” said Powell.

“Working alongside me are an unbelievably committed and dedicated group of coaches who have been absolutely superb during my time at the club and I am really pleased that they want to stay and continue to help build a fantastic future for Castleford Tigers.”

Tigers CEO Steve Gill was also delighted that the trio had committed to his club.

““It’s fantastic news for our club to secure the future of our coaching team,” he said.

“The hard work they have all put in has been rewarded, I feel we have some real quality people within our coaching ranks, and they have played an important part in developing the culture within the team and club.”
