Castleford wingers sign new deals

Young wingers Tuoyo Egodo and Kieran Gill have signed new deals at Castleford, keeping them at the club until at least the end of 2019.

Egogo, 21, made his Castleford debut last season and came through the ranks at London Broncos. He has scored four tries in five appearances for Newcastle Thunder on dual-registration this season.

Former Lock Lane junior Gill, 22, has spent time on loan at Oldham over the past three seasons, scoring 15 tries in 24 appearances, also making his Castleford debut in 2017.

Coach Daryl Powell said: “I’m really pleased that two really promising young players have extended their contracts with the club for another year. Kieran Gill has just come back from a long-term knee injury and has physically grown during that time to the point where he has a great chance to press a claim in the first team and Tuoyo Egodo has the physical presence that could make him a really good Super League player.

“Both players now need to apply themselves massively over the next year and a half to give them the best possible chance of being consistent Super League players.”

Both Egodo and Gill have been included in Powell’s 19-man squad for Friday night’s trip to Hull KR.
