Castleford winger referred to tribunal over striking charge

Castleford winger Elliot Wallis has been referred to tribunal with a Grade E striking charge while on dual-registration with Midlands Hurricanes.
The 22-year-old featured for the League 1 outfit in their 40-6 victory over Cornwall on Sunday. He was sent from the field by the official during the second half.
A former Hull KR winger, Wallis was promoted to Castleford’s first-team squad by head coach Lee Radford ahead of the 2023 season after impressing in the reserves. He received shirt number 26.
Wallis scored twice during the Midlands Hurricanes’ home victory, featuring alongside Castleford team-mates Jason Qareqare, Bailey Dawson and Brad Martin on dual-registration. The former also crossing for a four-pointer.
He has been charged for striking, with the MRP minutes stating: “Strikes with hand, arm or shoulder – intentional.”
The outside-back has been referred to tribunal.
Meanwhile, York forward Danny Kirmond has received a one-match penalty noticed for a Grace C striking charge. Andrew Henderson’s side fell to a 36-0 defeat away at Toulouse on Saturday.
Bradford playmaker Tom Holmes received a caution for other contrary behaviour.
