Castleford reject Salford bid for Rangi Chase

Castleford have rejected a bid from Salford for stand-off Rangi Chase.

Chase, 26, was close to leaving the Tigers for Hull last season, and was heavily linked with a move to NRL side St George-Illawarra over the winter.

The England international, who was Super League Man of Steel in 2011, has made more than 100 appearances for Castleford since arriving from St George in 2009.

Salford are on the hunt for players following the takeover of Dr Marwan Koukash, which was completed on the eve of the new season.
