Castleford receive positive injury news on Liam Watts

Castleford prop Liam Watts may only miss one game after learning that his finger injury is not as bad as first thought.

The 29-year-old left the field in Castleford’s 28-8 win at Hull KR last Thursday and didn’t return to the action due to a finger injury.

Watts is set to miss the Tigers’ trip to Warrington on Friday night.

Castleford coach Daryl Powell said: “He’s got an injury to his tendon which means his finger is dislocating out of the bottom. It’s not very nice for him but he’ll be okay.

“Whether he plays this week or not we’re not certain at this stage but if not we’re hopeful it’s a one-week injury rather than the initial six or eight we feared it might be.”
