Castleford have been fined £500 for the kit blunder against Huddersfield Giants on Sunday 5th June which was played at The Shay Stadium.

Both Castleford and Huddersfield turned up for the game in their white kits resulting in a delayed kick off whilst the kit situation was sorted.

Halifax employee Hilda Hardy came to the rescue and kitted the Tigers out in a 2010 Halifax RLFC strip in order for the game to go ahead.

An RFL investigation was launched into what went wrong and it was determined that Castleford failed to implement an amended kit directive issued on the 9th March 2011. They were instructed to play in their principal kit, with Huddersfield to play in their alternative kit.

The club have been hit with a £500 fine for breaching the operational rules of the Engage Super League, although the Tigers have got 14 days in which to appeal against the decision.
