Castleford hooker Paul McShane is facing a lengthy ban after he was handed a Grade D charge for striking with the forearm in Castleford’s loss to Leeds.

McShane’s case has been referred to a tribunal but he could be banned to for between three to five games if found guilty.

It is a huge blow for the Tigers, and he could potentially miss games against Wigan (home) Warriors, Huddersfield Giants, Wakefield Trinity, Catalans Dragons and Wigan (away).

Elsewhere, Rhinos half-back Richie Myler will serve a one-match suspension after receiving a Grade B charge for a dangerous lift in the same game last Thursday.

Wakefield back-rower Pauli Pauli, Salford front-rower Gil Dudson, St Helens front-rower Matty Lees and Catalans loose forward Greg Bird all received cautions from the match review panel, but will face no further charges.
