Castleford have confirmed that the latest two rounds of Covid testing for the first team and coaching staff have returned negative results.

The two rounds of tests were conducted on November 6 and 9.

A Castleford statement read: “Most members of the squad who have previously tested positive have now completed their mandatory 10-day isolation periods and have started their return-to-training protocols with the club’s medical staff.

“Although the club’s season has finished, these tests are required to confirm the players have no underlying effects of Covid before they are released for the off-season.

“This excludes the three members of the performance group who tested positive last week as they will need to complete new 10-day isolation periods before beginning their own return-to-training protocols.

“All members of the group who have tested negative throughout the process have now also completed their 14-day isolation periods.”
