Castleford confirm Chase exit

Castleford have confirmed that they have agreed a deal to sell stand-off Rangi Chase to an “unnamed club”.

Chase, 27, is widely expected to be one of the marquee signings announced by Salford at a specially arranged press conference on Thursday, at which the club will unveil its rebrand to become the Red Devils.

A Tigers club statement read: “Castleford Tigers can confirm that terms have been agreed with an unnamed club for the transfer of Rangi Chase.

“Chase has also agreed personal terms with the club and will be presented by them in the near future.”

Speculation has surrounded the future of the England international for more than a year, and he has previously been close to moving to Hull and St George Illawarra.

Despite talks of his departure, the Kiwi-born star has still managed to make 26 appearances for the Tigers this season, but he handed in a transfer request last month.
