Castleford complete Channing signing

Castleford have confirmed the signing of London centre Michael Channing on loan for the rest of the season.

Channing, 21, is a Wales international and has made 12 appearances for the Broncos in 2012.

He said: “I was looking at where I was going to learn the most and Cas seemed to tick all the boxes.

“I’ve heard a lot about Daryl Powell – hopefully I can learn a lot from him. I have the World Cup coming up at the end of the year so I want to learn everything that I can and become a better player.

“I’m going to give everything that I can and play my best for Castleford Tigers. I want to be a part of Cas because I know they’re going somewhere.”

Channing becomes Daryl Powell’s second signing as Castleford head coach, following the arrival of Ben Davies last month.

Powell said: “I have watched Michael play for a number of months now and I’m really pleased with his addition to the squad.

“He adds competition to the squad in the outside backs, just as Ben Davies has done with the forwards, so I’m really delighted with that and we’ll be looking to potentially tie up a longer term deal with Michael.”
